Psy.D. – Remote Clinical Associate
Licensed Psychologist
Paolo Laraño, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist providing therapy to adults, kids, adolescents, groups, and families through secure telehealth sessions. Through telehealth, Dr Laraño offers a therapeutic setting that prioritizes privacy, convenience, and flexibility. His integrative therapy style draws from various evidence-based practices, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as Family Systems approaches.
From the start of therapy, Dr. Laraño takes a collaborative approach meant to fit your specific needs. He works to create a space that welcomes and validates your full experience, along with simultaneously respecting your autonomy and boundaries. In addition to supporting your struggles, he offers just as much space to help you uncover and develop your strengths. You may be motivated to change your behavior, interested in exploring your past, or just be curious about what therapy can do for you. Understanding that people exist in a variety of contexts, Dr. Laraño always invites and welcomes clients to consider the cultural factors that affect everything from their everyday behaviors, to their relationships, and sense of self.
Paolo earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California in 2018. He completed his doctoral internship at The University of Puget Sound. In addition to his experience in various educational settings and community/family clinics, Dr. Laraño has extensive experience providing telehealth, which he believes can increase the effectiveness of mindfulness, behavioral activation, exposure therapy, and other evidence-based interventions. Telehealth offers a unique opportunity to practice these in various/more realistic scenarios beyond the limits of a traditional therapy office.
