PhD – Clinical Associate
Coach
Dr. Lizza enjoys coaching individuals and couples who are on a path towards achieving professional success and/or exploring personal growth. Her work focuses on assessing existing strengths and areas for growth, identifying goals, and building skills.
She utilizes an inquiry-based approach to professional and personal development that encourages higher-level thinking to solve complex problems. She includes assessments and other outcome measures where appropriate and relies on evidence-based strategies to help her clients reach their greatest potential. She challenges her clients to see themselves as others see them and encourages them to become the person and the leader that they want to become.
While completing a PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Washington, Dr. Lizza developed ground-breaking technology to promote and sustain behavior change and subsequently founded a SaaS-based digital health company (DatStat) here in Seattle. She spent almost two decades as CEO building, scaling, and managing that profitable business. After the successful acquisition of DatStat, she was the Chief Innovation Officer at SCI Solutions, a Partner at Madrona Venture Labs, and Chief Experience Officer at WEconnect Health Management.
She was recognized as one of the “40 Under 40” business leaders by the Puget Sound Business Journal and her software products consistently won awards including the Washington Software Alliance Best Product of the Year. Her greatest sense of accomplishment as a leader was her ability to coach others into stretch roles, enabling them to overcome their self-imposed barriers and achieve success. She believes the most important ingredients of being a great coach include relevant experience, first-hand knowledge of business-related mistakes and failures, and self-awareness that can only come after dusting oneself off and getting back in the game time and time again. She brings a dose of humility, a sense of wonder for the human condition, and an abundance of support and encouragement to her coaching practice. She is best matched with clients who have a growth mindset (or want to cultivate that), are in pursuit of excellence, and have a curiosity about their sense of purpose.
