MA, LMFTA – Clinical Associate
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate
Jessica MacLeod, MA, LMFTA is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who works with adults, teens, couples, and parents.
Her therapeutic approach is warm, and collaborative. Jessica strongly believes in a reflective practice that is rooted in continual consent to create safety and trust, so that positive outcomes are possible.
Clients are supported by the skillful balance of processing difficult or painful events and creating healthier ways coping, connecting and thriving. Jessica weaves evidence based behavioral approaches to support shifts in thinking and create positive change with somatic and mindfulness modalities, to improve the client’s self-awareness, emotional regulation and self-empowerment. Jessica often uses Internal Family Systems (also known as parts work) to acknowledge and integrate dysregulated parts to support clients.
Jessica has had significant time working with parents and individuals with difficult childhood and family experiences and often uses a psychodynamic approach by connecting to how our earliest experiences affect us in the present so that we can address them and heal. Jessica formerly worked with parents and children in the early childhood field as education program manager and teacher, as well as the K-12 students as a mental health therapist.
When supporting parents, she is guided by her training in attachment theory and developmental lens. Jessica’s approach with couples is founded in Emotionally Focused Therapy to enable clearer communication of needs and boundaries as they build deeper compassion for themselves and each other. Jessica aligns with and affirms the LGBTQ+ community and works with relationships of all constellations.
