MA, LMHCA – Clinical Associate
Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate
Jess is a licensed mental health counselor associate who believes that each client is the expert of their own experience and that they have everything inside of them they need to respond to life’s challenges- sometimes all that is required is a space to wonder and say things out loud without judgment on the other side.
Trained in the Incredible Years Parent Program through Seattle Children’s Hospital PEARL Clinic (Program for Enhancement of Attention, Regulation, and Learning), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT, Jess utilizes those evidence-based practices to meet the goals of her clients. Jess holds a Master’s degree in Applied Child and Adolescent Psychology from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Grand Canyon University. In addition, she has received training in conflict resolution and mediation through Orange County Human Relations and the Dispute Resolution Center of King County and served as a small claims court mediator in the North Justice Center in Fullerton, California.
Jess is passionate about collaborating with parents and families experiencing obstacles in their collective lives and/or in their children’s behavioral and mental health. She believes in a top-down approach: when parents get what they need, their children do, too. Jess focuses exclusively on the parenting side of the parent-child relationship and enjoys the work of coming alongside parents who are looking for ways to improve their family relationships.
Furthermore, Jess sees immense importance in providing an empathetic atmosphere where people can wrestle with the existential and spiritual questions of life, as they often shape the view of self, others, and the world. Faith deconstruction, life transitions that shift one’s worldview, and navigating relationships during deconstruction and/or post religion can be challenging- Jess works to meet clients where they are to redefine themselves and their values in line with their new and emerging perspectives.
